Obituary of Jeffrey Zink

Jeffrey A. Zink Allegany, NY Jeffrey A. Zink of 4406 Birch Run Rd. passed away Sunday (August 31, 2014) at Fiddlers Green Manor in Springville due to complications from a rare neurological disorder known as Pick's Disease. Born January 28, 1963 in Olean he was the son of Richard J. and Frances M. Johnson Zink. Jeffrey was a 1982 graduate of Allegany Central School and of BOCES in Olean. He began work for Mandy's Flowers soon after completing high school and was primarily a delivery driver where he worked for thirty years. Beginning in 1996 he concurrently worked for the Security Department at St. Bonaventure University. Since 1995 he and his father co-owned J & R Self Storage and he took complete ownership of the business upon his father's death in 2011. He was a proud life member of the Allegany Engine Co. and devoted much time to the department. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and antique cars. He was a Yankees fan and also a fan of Buffalo Bills football. He was a former member of the Olean Elk's Lodge #491. Surviving are his mother of Salamanca; 3 brothers George (Mary) Zink and Daniel (Karen) Zink, both of Freedom and Thomas (Gail Church) Zink of Allegany and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father on September 26, 2011. Friends will be received today (Tuesday) from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (September 3, 2014) at 9:30am in the funeral home. Fr. James Vacco, OFM, chaplain of the Allegany Fire Department, will officiate.
