G. Paul Linderman Hinsdale, NY G. Paul Linderman, 79, of 1320 Johnson Hollow Rd. passed away Wednesday (February 12, 2014) at his residence after a long illness. Born February 14, 1934 in Hinsdale he was the son of Leland and Helen Fairfield Linderman. On November 26, 1983 in Hinsdale he married Arlene Perry who survives. Mr. Linderman was a 1952 graduate of Hinsdale and in later years had been recognized for his high school athletic achievements by being elected into the Hinsdale Central School Athletic "Wall of Fame". After graduation he enlisted in the US Army where he served from 1953 to 1955. He was first employed for various periods of time for Dresser Clark Co. and for Acme Electric Co. He also was a bus driver for the Hinsdale Central School District. He worked for over thirty years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Hinsdale until his retirement. Mr. Linderman enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife and spending time maintaining his home and yard. In the past he liked to play the trumpet and sing in the church choir and quartet. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters Kristen (Bob) Geuter of Olean, Kara (Michael) Chapman of Cuba and Kenda Neff of Olean; 2 granddaughters; 1 step grandson; 1 step granddaughter; 2 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. He is also survived by 2 stepdaughters Cinda Bentley of Florida and Karla Bentley Picco of Olean; 1 stepson Jeffrey (Susan) Bentley of Olean; 12 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Kevin Linderman; a stepson James Bentley; a stepdaughter Sondra Bentley; 2 step grandchildren; a twin brother Keith Linderman; a brother Larry Linderman and a sister Betty Hatch. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean today (Friday) from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (February 15, 2014) at 2:00pm in the funeral home. Rev. Roger White, director of the Odosagih Bible Conference in Machias, will officiate. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, NY. Donations in his memory may be made to the Ischua Volunteer Fire Department.
