Elizabeth E. "Betty" Doyle
Elizabeth E. "Betty" Doyle of Colonial Village, Allegany passed away Wednesday January 15, 2014.
Born October 2, 1928 in Clairton, PA she was the daughter of Anthony J. and Hazel Denny Bildhauser. Betty was a graduate of Clairton High School in Pennsylvania and attended the Art Institute in Pittsburgh, having completed several courses of study in sculpture, ceramics and oil painting.
She resided in Franklinville for 36 years and was an associate with the Head Start Program in Olean and was also a sales representative for Lifetouch for many years. She resided in Allegany for the past 17 years, having recently relocated to Dudley, NC.
Betty was an active member of St. Bonaventure Church, the Allegany 60 Plus Club, the Red Hat Society and the Cattaraugus County Arts Council in Allegany. Betty was also a member of the Olean Senior League and was previously active with their musical group "The Entertainers". She also served as a receptionist at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts and as an usher at the Rigas Family Theater at St. Bonaventure University.
She is survived by 3 sons James A. (Roberta) Doyle of Cary, NC, Jeffrey P. Doyle of Dudley, NC and John K. (Kathleen) Doyle of Hamburg, NY; 1 daughter Susan E. (Ali) Doyle-Mirzadeh of Lakewood, WA; 3 grandchildren, Jamie Doyle, Meaghan and Liam Doyle; 2 sisters Norma Manns of Ruffs Dale, Pa., Annette Colaianni of Clairton, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by one sister, Ruth Ann Hafner of Elizabeth, PA and one grandson James Doyle of Cary, NC.
A memorial service is being planned for spring/early summer and will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Parish 95 East Main Street, Allegany, NY 14706. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
