Obituary of Bertha Spencer

Olean- Bertha L. Spencer of 415 Martha Avenue, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday (September 21, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital. Born January 12, 1943 in Olean, she was the daughter of Hurlon T. Armour and Ardella Clemons. On November 24, 1967 in Olean she married Joseph Spencer who survives. Mrs. Spencer was a 1960 graduate of Olean High School and attended Olean Business Institute. She was a dispatcher for the former Blue Bird Cab Company and later was employed at Sugar Creek Stores in Olean. She was a member of Rock of Revelation Church in Olean. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, bowling and was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons Joseph L. (Stacey) Spencer, Jr. of Jamestown and Justin Thomas Armour Spencer of Olean; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters Constance (Sam) Roberts of Olean, Judith Wilson of Olean and Tammy Stolt of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday (September 27, 2013) at 11am at the Rock of Revelation Church, 1009 Griffin Street, Olean.
