I was a 1978 H.S. classmate of Jeff's. We also played football together from peewee's until graduation. I loved Jeff's sense of humor. He could always make a bad day of school or prctice better immediately. Recently I would only see him one day a year when he came home for the annual Bonafest. Although his health was starting to deteriorate, I never once heard him complain about anything. Always we just sahared laughs about the old days. I'll share one story we always told every year when we got together. It was our senior year in football. Our team was not very good, and one day at practice the coach got us all in a big circle and tried to give us an inspirational speech before the season. He loudly yelled to us,"who'sd the toughest team around?" Well we all knew we weren't very good, so we figured he wanted to know who the best school really was. We all started yelling different answers back to the coach. Portville? Coudersport? Ridgeway????? The coach then called us all an expletive and launched his clipboard about 20 yards. We then all realized he wanted us to answer, 'Allegany!!!' We got a great laugh out of it after that and always told that story whenever we got together. I'll miss you Jeff, you were warm, kind, and very fun to be around. The Bonafest will never be the same without you. RIP friend!
