Obituary of Robert Guthrie

Robert L. "Bob" Guthrie Allegany, NY Robert L. "Bob" Guthrie of 2778 Rogers Rd. passed away Tuesday (July 9, 2013) at the Cuba Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born August 28, 1959 in Roanoke, VA he was the son of Victor and Janice Guthrie Venable. Bob was a 1977 graduate of Olean High School and had resided in the Olean and Allegany area most of his life. He truly enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors maintaining his property. He also loved being "grandpa" to his grandchildren Cody Guthrie and Mya Guthrie. In addition to his grandchildren he is survived by his children Stephanie Guthrie and Jeremy Guthrie, both of Allegany; former wife and dear friend Jane Guthrie and two brothers William Butcher of Virginia and Ron (Susan) Guthrie of Alabama. He also thought of many neighbors and friends as family. Bob also leaves behind his wonderful companion, his dog Harley. He was predeceased by his father Victor Guthrie and his mother and stepfather Janice and Paul Venable. Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on Friday from 5-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.
