Obituary of Doris Nevison

N. Tonawanda, NY Doris Nevison, formerly of the Hinsdale and Ischua areas, passed away Monday (May 20, 2013) at the Northgate Manor in N. Tonawanda. Born March 11, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of William and Irene Gross Witter. On November 20, 1945 in Ripley NY she married Bernard G. Nevison who predeceased her March 2, 2012. Mrs. Nevison was raised in Niagara Falls and from 1953 to 1956 resided in Lewiston. She was employed for a period of time for Shimshack's Restaurant in Peking. From 1956 to 1959 she lived in Dansville where she worked at Scott's Farm. She then moved to Hinsdale and lived there from 1959 to 1974 during which she was employed by Bird's Foot Acres. She lived in Ischua and later Franklinville until 2003 where she was self employed until her retirement. She has resided in the Buffalo area for the past eleven years. Mrs. Nevison enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and playing cards, especially euchre. Surviving are one son William (Mary Bauer) Nevison of Livonia, MI; five grandchildren Sean Nordlund, Kristen Nordlund, Heidi Nevison, Nancy Nevison and Keith Nevison and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased an infant son Robert Nevison in 1951and a daughter Lori Nordlund on February 1, 2007. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Thursday (May 23, 2013) from 10am until time of services at 1pm. Rev. Derek Cheek, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Olean, will officiate. Burial will be at convenience of the family.
