MAMIE L. STOUFFER - OSTERHOUT
HAMBURG - Mamie L. Stouffer - Osterhout, formerly of Allegany, died Monday January 28, 2003 at Elderwood Village at Rosewood. Born in Buena Vista, VA on March 31, 1920 she was a daughter of Henry and Nannie Phillips Ballard. On March 31, 1938 in Accident, Maryland she married Rev. Victor C. Stouffer who predeceased her in 1971. She later married Rev. Everett Osterhout in 1993 who predeceased her in 1995.
She lived in Allegany from 1947 through 1955 where her husband was pastor of the Five Mile Baptist Church. Mamie was employed by Shepherds Home and School for many years where she worked with the mentally impaired. Upon her retirement, she returned to the Five Mile where she took training as a home health care provider, caring for many people in the Allegany and Olean area.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Herman) Beaujean and Naomi (David) Persons; one son, Stephen (Lynn) Stouffer; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received on Monday February 3, 2003 at the Five Mile Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until Noon at which time funeral services will be conducted. Rev Dale Moore, pastor of the Randolph Baptist Church will officiate and Rev. James Mitchell, pastor of the Five Mile Baptist Church will co-officiate. Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to Shepherds Home and School, 1805 15th Avenue, Union Grove, WI 53182-1597. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean.
