BARBARA NETHERTON OLEAN - Barbara Netherton of Crown Street, Olean died Thursday January 30, 2003 at her residence. Born in Hertfordshire, England on May 21, 1925 she was a daughter of George and Ellen Meagher. On April 30, 1949 in St. Albans, England she married Kenneth E. Netherton who predeceased her March 27, 1996. Mrs. Netherton moved to the United States in 1952 settling in Olean. She became a United States Citizen in 1966. She was a former member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed gardening and cherished her family and friends. She is survived by a son, Roy (Connie) Netherton of St. Charles, IL, two granddaughters; two sisters Maureen Pamphilon of Harpenden, England and Vera Lloyd of St. Albans, England. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received on Friday February 7, 2003 at from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday February 8, 2003 at 12:00 Noon. Burial and committal services will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to SPCA in Cattaraugus County or to the Salvation Army 310 E. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
