Obituary of Charlotte Woodarek

Charlotte S. "Char" Woodarek Olean, NY Charlotte S. "Char" Woodarek of 1665 Park St. passed away quietly in her home on Saturday (April 13, 2013). Born January 29, 1944 in Olean she was the daughter of Howard S. and Sarah J. Metler Palmer. On November 11, 1967 at the former Holy Cross Church in Salamanca she married Robert Woodarek who survives. Mrs. Woodarek was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Olean High School. She retired from Community Bank, NA in Olean where she first worked as a teller and later as the switchboard operator. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers and watching and feeding birds. She most enjoyed her family and spending precious time with her granddaughter Chloe. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters Lynne Woodarek of Olean and Lora (Michael) Kimball of Olean; one granddaughter Chloe Kimball; one brother Craig (Christine) Palmer of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday (April 16, 2013) from noon until 2:00pm at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
