Olean- Debra A. "Debbie" Clayson,of 1103 ½ Washington Street, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday (February 17, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born August 19, 1957 in Olean, she was the daughter of Donald and Carol Nudd Clayson.
Debbie was a graduate of Olean High School, Olean Business Institute and received her Associates Degree from Jamestown Community College.
She was first employed as a secretary at Bluebird and then as a teller at Manufactures Hanover in Olean. She later went on to work for Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services, retiring in 2012.
She was a member of several Olean Camera Clubs, various bowling leagues and attended the Christian Science Church. Debbie enjoyed photography, live concerts, knitting, reading, Easter egg hunts and ceramics. She loved anything Disney, her cats and volunteering for the SPCA and Toys for Tots.
Surviving are her parents of Olean, one brother Brian (Tracie) Clayson of Olean; her long time loving companion Al Hartwig; one niece Zoey Clayson; one nephew Zachary Clayson; one aunt June Lowe; two uncles including a special uncle Daniel (Nadene) Nudd and Russell Burton; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, two aunts Rosie Burton, Shirley Clayson; two uncles Joseph Lowe, Doug Clayson; and two cousins Arlene Clayson and Sheila Clayson.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday (February 22, 2013) at 10am at the funeral home. Rev. Brad Chesebro, pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany.
