George T. Kranock Olean, NY George T. Kranock of 132 N. Union St. passed away Wednesday (January 30, 2013) at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean after a short illness. Born August 24, 1919 in Olean he was the son of George and Louise Dermont Kranock. In 1975 in Olean he married Edna Adsit Gorney who survives. Mr. Kranock was a 1939 graduate of Olean High School and later served with the US Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He worked as a plumber all of his life and was a member of the Plumber's and Steamfitters Union of Olean. He loved boating and he also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Florida by motorcycle. Surviving besides his wife are two sons George Kranock of Lakeland, FL and Bob Kranock of Tampa, FL; a stepson Frank Gorney of Olean and several grandchildren. At Mr. Kranock's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at The Salvation Army Chapel in Olean at a date and time to be announced. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
