Obituary of Agnes Wurtz

Agnes M. Wurtz Olean, NY Agnes M. Wurtz, a longtime Olean resident passed away Friday (December 28, 2012) at the Absolut at Allegany where she had resided since 2002. Born January 31, 1916 in Ashford she was the daughter of Lewis and Helen Schumacher Wurtz. Miss Wurtz was a graduate of West Valley High School and first worked at Bell Aircraft in Buffalo. She was later employed by the former Daystrom Furniture Co. in Olean. She then worked as a receptionist for the Cattaraugus County Health Department for twenty seven years prior to her retirement. Miss Wurtz was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. Surviving are two sisters, Ruth Nolan of Olean and Carole A. Wurtz of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters LeEtta Bentkowski, Gilda Neudeck and Mary Foskit and one brother Lloyd Wurtz. There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at The Absolut at Allegany on Monday (December 31, 2012) at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in West Valley. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
