Olean- William "Bill" A. Hale of 1951 W. Fall Road Olean, passed away Friday (November 2, 2012) at the Olean General Hospital, after a long illness. Born May 10, 1951 in Cuba, NY he was the son of Arthur and Luella Phillips Hale. Mr. Hale loved playing basketball, volleyball and badminton and enjoyed listening to music. Surviving are his two sisters Carol Hamilton of Cuba, Nancy (Pat) Kayes of Olean, one brother Allen (Lydia) Hale of Rixsford, PA; nieces and nephews including his niece and caregiver Carrie Howell of Olean and nephew Arthur (Laurie) Howell of Hinsdale; several great- nieces and nephews; many cousins; and his friends at the ReHabilitation Center and Life Skills Program. He was predeceased by a nephew Kenneth Hamilton. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Friday (November 9, 2012) from 1-3pm at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. Alan Yates will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the ReHabilitation Center 1439 Buffalo Road, Olean NY 14760. Mr. Hale's family would like to give a special Thank You to all the staff at the Rehabilitation Center and Life Skills Program for the care they had given him over the years.
