Obituary of Jane Sobey

Jane Sobey "loving wife, mother and grandmother" Allegany, NY-- Jane Sobey of 2306 Sheldon Dr. died Thursday (February 6, 2003) in the Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Corsica, Pa she was the daughter of Troy and Inez Brown Williams. On May 16, 1958 in Cortland, NY she married Joseph Sobey who survives. Mrs. Sobey was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church and dearly loved the Lord. She graduated from Corsica High School. Besides reading, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren Christopher, Jeremy and Troy Miller. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Sandra and son-in-law Chris Miller whom she loved like a son and their children Christopher, Jeremy and Troy; 2 sisters Dolores Beck of Niagara Falls, NY, Mary Lee Bale of Lecanto, Fl; a brother John (Aileen) Williams of Andover, NY and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 2 brothers Troy Williams and Ronald Williams. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Monday (February 10, 2003) at 11:00am in the Allegany Baptist Church 3236 Maple Ave.. Pastor Frank Hayman will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Baptist Church PO Box 64 Allegany, NY 14706 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
