Obituary of Oakley Phearsdorf

Oakley L. Phearsdorf Allegany, NY Oakley L. Phearsdorf of 2471 North Nine Mile Rd. passed away Friday (June 29, 2012) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center in Bradford, PA. Born June 8, 1935 in Olean, NY he was the son of Oakley L. and Catherine Lauer Phearsdorf, Sr. On September 27, 1953 in Olean he married Donna Hakes who predeceased him May 10, 2012. Mr. Phearsdorf was a graduate of Limestone Central School and had first worked for Davey Tree Preservation. He later was the tree foreman for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for many years prior to his retirement. In his younger years he was an avid stock car racer and he always enjoyed hunting, trapping and practicing target shooting. More recently he enjoyed his friends who joined him each day at his morning coffee club in his home. Surviving are one daughter Vickie Casey of Allegany; three sons Bruce (Connie) Phearsdorf, Donald (Danielle) Phearsdorf and Timothy (Jean) Phearsdorf, all of Allegany; seven grandchildren Amanda, Jammie, Donald, Jr., Oakley, III, Timothy, Jr., Matt and Hannah; one great grandson Landon; two sisters Laura Karst of Cuba and Ruby Skroback of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside service to celebrated Saturday (July 7, 2012) at 11:00am in Allegany Cemetery. The service will be for the burial of both Mr. Phearsdorf and his wife Donna whose death was so recent. Rev. Gerald Piper will officiate. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Allegany Fire Department.
