Marion G. McCabe Allegany, NY Marion G. McCabe, of 93 N. 4th St. passed away Friday (December 2, 2011) in the Absolut Care of Allegany. Born April 9, 1916 in New York City, NY she was the daughter of Ernest and Marie Hauschildt Speckman. In 1941 in St. Ann's Church in New York City she married Terry F. McCabe who predeceased her August 5, 1971. Mrs. McCabe had been employed by the former Dornow's Pharmacy for twenty years and later she worked for the Allegany Public Library for sixteen years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in its choir. She was also a member of the Sixty Plus Club in Allegany, was a former member of the Sweet Adeline's and was formerly active with the community choir in Olean. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by one sister Ann Bane and one brother Henry "Bud" Speckman, Sr. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 1-4pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (December 5, 2011) at 10:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Derek Cheek, interim pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
