Obituary of Richard Hannon

Richard H. Hannon Olean, NY Richard H. Hannon of 119 S. 6th St. died unexpectedly Thursday (November 24, 2011) in his home. Born October 11, 1955 in Olean he was the son of Richard J and Mary Ann Frey Hannon. Mr. Hannon was a resident of Olean most of his life and was a graduate of Olean High School and had attended SUNY Morrisville for two years. He worked for WGGO AM radio in Salamanca and later as a salesman for Cubic Storage, Inc. in Olean. He most recently worked for WPIG FM radio in Olean. He liked to hunt and enjoyed following sports, especially football and the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed cooking and he loved music, especially the Beatles, Motown music and the Blues. Surviving are his father of Olean; one daughter Nicole Hannon, Pharm D. of Rochester; one sister Edna Wintermantel of Allegany; three nieces Elizabeth (Charlie) Bares, Megan (Jim) Barillo and Kate (Frank) Campanella; three great nieces; three great nephews and several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother on May 9, 1999. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (November 28, 2011) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Inurnment will in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kevin Guest House 782 Ellicott St. Buffalo, NY 14203, St. Mary of the Angels Church or to the Olean General Hospital.
