Obituary of Vincent Little

Vincent Richard Scott Little Zephyrhills, FL Vincent Richard Scott Little of 5357 Lochmead Terrace, formerly of Olean, died Tuesday (November 22, 2011) in the Zephyr Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Zephyrhills after a long illness. Born March 11, 1926 in Olean, NY he was the son of William and Ester Margaret Scott Little. He was married to Thakla Irene "Rusty" Gross. She predeceased him on February 11, 1998 after fifty years of marriage. On December 17, 2000 at Wesley Chapel, FL he married Gladys Hukill who survives. Mr. Little was a resident of the Olean area most of his life and had been a resident of Zephyrhills in his retirement. He had been employed for forty one years as a pipe fitter for Dresser Rand in Olean, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the United Steelworker's Union Local #4601 (retired) and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1619 in Olean and the Allegany American Legion. He was also a member of the Franklinville Conservation Club and the Olean Elk's Lodge #491. He enjoyed taking extensive walks. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter Helen (David) Duhan of Great Valley; two sons Alan (Marjorie) Little of Wellsville and Daniel (Diane) Little of Bolivar; three stepchildren Gaylene (Les) Elson of Wellsburg, W. VA, Gary (Jean) Lauri of Wellsburg, W. VA and Galen Lauri of Ft. Meyers, FL; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; one sister Margaret "Peg" Lewis of Harker Heights, TX and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife he was predeceased by a son Michael W. Little on February 16, 1968. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 4 to 7pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (November 28, 2011) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
