Thomas Maldonado
Allegany, NY Thomas Maldonado, of 2323 Wiltse Drive, died Thursday (November 10, 2011) at home, with caregivers and family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 8, 1936 in Puerto Rico he was the son of To'Mas and Hermina Maldonado.
Thomas was a beloved resident of the ReHabilitation Center's West State Street location and made his residence on Wiltse Drive since 2007. He attended the Life Skills program and enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially beadwork which he proudly wore each day. He loved life and nature, had a smile for everyone he met, and was happy with his trips to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and donuts.
Surviving are his many friends and caregivers who loved him dearly, including Kathy McCoy of Portville and Inez of Allegany.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (November 15, 2011) at 10:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Bert Tidlund will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to Homecare and Hospice 1225 W. State St. Olean or to the ReHabilitation Center 1439 Buffalo St. Olean, NY 14760.
