Marion Conrad Hall Zink
S. Onondaga, NY-- Marion Conrad Hall Zink, formerly of Limestone and Allegany, died Thursday (November 3, 2011) at the home of her daughter.
Born November 28, 1922 in Lakewood, Ohio she was the daughter of Frank and Letha Stidd Conrad. She was first married to George H. Hall, Sr. who predeceased her April 6, 1978. She later married Howard H. Zink on May 21, 1983 at St. John the Baptist Church in Vandalia. He died May 23, 1996.
Mrs. Zink was a graduate of Limestone High School and lived in the Limestone and Chipmonk areas for many years. She then lived in Marcellus until returning to Allegany upon her marriage to Mr. Zink. She then resided with her daughter in S. Onondaga for the past nine years.
She was a housewife most of her life and had co-owned and operated a dry cleaner business with her brother in Marcellus. She retired from P & C Foods in the Syracuse and surrounding area.
She was a former member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Marcellus and the former St. John the Baptist Church in Vandalia. She was also a member of the Limestone Alumni Association, the Allegany Historical Association and had been an active bowler in both Marcellus and Olean.
Surviving are two sons George H. (Debbie) Hall, Jr. of Pavilion and Michael T. (Terry) Hall of Marcellus; one daughter Ellen M. Guptill of S. Onondaga; nine grandchildren Bill (Kris) Guptill, Pennie (Shawn) Donath, Greg Guptill, Milissa (Andy) McChesney, Michelle (Scott) Stanton, Jeremiah (Erika) Hall, Kyle Hall, Aaron Hall and Liz (Dan) Poteat; seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to give a special thank you to Alta Nelson of Taunton, NY and Gay MacDonald of Marcellus.
In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by three brothers Creighton Conrad, Frank Conrad and Willard Conrad and three sisters Isabel Miller, Martha McCleery and Jean Trowbridge.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Saturday (November 5, 2011) from 11am to 12:30pm. Funeral services will begin at 12:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Allegany Historical Association or to the Marcellus Historical Association.
