Obituary of John Butler

Olean-John R. Butler formerly of 430 Second Ave., passed away Sunday (October 2, 2011) at the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home, where he had been residing for the past four years.
Born July 8, 1935 in Olean, he was the son of Howard T. and Marguerite E. Welch Butler.
Mr. Butler was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1953-1954 and later was employed as a cook at several area restaurants. He was a former member of St. Mary of the Angels Church.
Surviving are a brother Thomas H. (Sally) Butler of Olean; a sister Kathleen (Robert) Cucchiaro of Olean and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother Gerald J. Butler.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday (October 5, 2011) from 10:30-11am at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. Gregory Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at the Allegany Cemetery.
Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
