"Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather"
Olean- Bernard E. "Bernie" Easterly of 219 N. 12th Street, passed away Thursday (September 29, 2011) at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 12, 1941 in Auburn, NY, he was the son of Herman and Mary Grinell Easterly. On July 30, 1993 in Allegany, he married Stephanie Hall, who survives.
He was the owner of "Bernie's Treasure Chest". He loved hunting, fishing and sports. Bernie was an avid animal lover and enjoyed going to community events as well as helping others around his neighborhood.
He knew Christ before his death.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters Bonnie (Timothy) Leasure of Jamestown, Debbie (Andy) Farrar of Celeron, NY; one step-daughter Amy Lisek of Olean, one step-son Adam (Kathy) Jeffery of Olean; eight grandchildren Nicole (Bryant) Plymel, Clarissa and Mikel Leasure, Samantha Farrar, Stone and Gage Lisek, Collin and Evelyn Jeffery; one great-grandson Chase Plymel; a twin brother Bruce (Judy) Easterly; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 NYS Rte 417W Olean on Wednesday (October 5, 2011) from 12-1pm at which time funeral services will begin. Burial will be in Farmersville Cemetery.
