Obituary of Winifred Johnston

Hinsdale-- Winifred L. Johnston of 3721 Fay Hollow Road in Hinsdale, passed away Friday (August 26, 2011) at the Olean General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born March 30, 1932 in Olean, she was the daughter of Coy D. and Elsie O. Tinglund Ingalls. She first married Thomas J. King, and later married Robert T. Johnston, who predeceased her September 10, 2005.
Mrs. Johnston attended Olean High School and was employed for many years at Acme Electric in Allegany and Cuba. She was a life member of the St. Stephen's Club in Olean. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crafts and shopping.
She is survived by her 2 sons Daniel (Mary) King of Olean, James T. King of Hinsdale; 2 daughters Delores (White) Minerich of Olean, Judy (Dan) Bailey of Hinsdale; 1 step-son Thomas Johnston; 3 step-daughters Lindy (Henry) Schutt, Judy Grochowina, Rhonda Walterich;2 brothers Jerry (Judy) Ingalls, Robert (Michalene) Ingalls; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands, she was predeceased by a granddaughter Julie Jackson.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road on Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (August 31, 2011) at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department.
