Obituary of Sharon Peterson

Allegany-- Sharon A. Peterson of 2936 Five Mile Road, lot 32, Allegany, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (August 1, 2011) in the Olean General Hospital Emergency Room. Born August 13, 1942 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Harold and Mildred Akron Bowen. On December 31, 1964 in Olean, she married William Peterson who survives. Mrs. Peterson was employed for many years at John Ash Cleaners in Olean, as a presser. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Olean and in her free time enjoyed knitting and lottery scratch off tickets. Surviving besides her husband are four daughters Debra Peterson of Olean, Cheryl Peterson of Olean, Patricia (Michael) Smith of Olean, Karen Peterson of Olean; one brother David (Betty) Bowen of Lockport; one sister Mary (Fred) Duchow of Lockport; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Nancy. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Friday from 4-6pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (August 6, 2011) at the Cornerstone Church 118 Brookview Street in Olean at 11am. Rev. John Lounsbury will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
