Obituary of Dorothy Whitney

Maysville, NC Dorothy Elizabeth Brown "Debbie" Whitney, 87, died Wednesday (July 6, 2011) at her home.
Born September 3, 1923 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Lynn Ross and Frances Martina Salisbury Brown.
Mrs. Whitney was an employee of the Department of Agriculture in Maryland and resided in Annapolis and the Eastern Shore. She later was a longtime Real Estate Agent with Caldwell Banker. Upon her retirement she moved to North Carolina. She especially enjoyed being a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are two sons James "Scott" (Wendy) Whitney of Tracy's Landing, MD and David L. (Clarice) Whitney of Benbrook, TX; one daughter Joanne (James Earl) Hill of Maysville; nine grandchildren Amy Rippey, James Brandon Whitney, Kristen Morris, Whitney Allen Davis, Kyle Fox Whitney, Alex Ross Whitney, Christi Lyn Hill, Shannon Hill Gibson and Brian Edward Hill and seven great grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC on Saturday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday (July 13, 2011) at 2:00pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
