Obituary of Dr. Frank Frost

Olean-- Dr. Frank T. Frost, Jr. a former Olean resident and most recently of Bensalem PA, passed away Sunday (February 6, 2011) at the Chandler Hall Hospice Center in Newtown, PA, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Oswego NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Julia Frost. On May 29, 1945 in Buffalo, he married Charlotte Welles, who predeceased him on August 4, 1993.
Dr. Frost was a graduate of Houghton College and the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. He served as a Captain in the United States Army during World War II and was a Regimental Surgeon in Korea.
In 1956, Dr. Frost and his wife moved to Olean where he was a private practice OB/GYN for 30 years. He was on staff at St. Francis Hospital and Olean General Hospital, delivering over 4,500 babies in his career. Dr. Frost served as a Board Member at both St. Francis and Olean General Hospitals and was a member of Valley Medical Group.
Dr. Frost enjoyed skiing, golfing, hunting and gardening. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1957 and a member and volunteer for Interfaith Caregivers. He was a the past President of the Board of Health for Cattaraugus County and a previous member of the Bartlett Country Club.
He will be sadly missed by his son Stephen (Christine) Frost of Bensalem, PA and 2 grandsons Michael and Paul.
Besides his wife he was predeceased by a beloved son David James on April 30, 2005 and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral home 3128 W. State Road on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday (February 11, 2011) at 11am at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean. Rev. Kristen Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Honor of Dr. Frost to the ReHabilitation Center 1439 Buffalo Street Olean, NY 14760.
