"Betty Boop"
Portville, NY-Elizabeth M. "Betty" Prozeller of 90 S. Main St. Apt 213 passed away Friday (January 28, 2011) at the Olean General Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born May 21, 1932 in Allegany, NY she was the daughter of John F. and Emma L. Miller Riordan. She was married to Robert Prozeller who survives.
Mrs. Prozeller was a graduate of Allegany High School and had been a resident of Portville most of her life and had first worked for the former New York Telephone Co. She had been employed for most of her working career as a chef for various restaurants, including the former Paul's Steakhouse, Fisher's Restaurant in Portville and Breadstix Café from which she retired fifteen years ago.
She was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed watching football, baseball and NASCAR. She also enjoyed John Wayne movies and Clint Eastwood movies as well. Most of all she loved raising her five sons and one daughter.
Surviving are her husband of Snyder, TX; five sons Will (Kim Campanella) Prozeller of San Diego, CA, David (Theresa) Prozeller of Fourche, SD, John (Grace) Prozeller of Midland, TX, Nicholas (Debra) Prozeller of Portville and Michael (Chris) Prozeller of Midland, TX; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister Shirley (Clarence) Phillips of Belmont; one brother Clarence "Chuck" (Barb) Riordan of Franklinville and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter Lynn Prozeller in 1990; one sister Rita Tatlow and one brother William Riordan.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (February 1, 2011) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Bro Chris Coccia, OFM of St. Bonaventure Friary, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to the Portville Ambulance Squad.
