Obituary of Robert Conhiser

Robert E. Conhiser "Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather" Allegany, NY Robert E. Conhiser of 3869 Wing Hollow Rd., recently of Eden Heights in Olean, passed away Monday (January 17, 2011) at the Absolut of Salamanca. Born January 15, 1923 in Olean, NY he was the son of Theodore and Regina Zister Conhiser. On June 7, 1947 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany he married Ruth S. Klice who predeceased him May 11, 2006. Mr. Conhiser was a lifelong resident of Wing Hollow Road in Allegany where he had operated a dairy farm until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, attending farm auctions, especially the Maplehurst Livestock auction on Mondays and visiting with his Amish friends. Surviving are one daughter Lynda Turner of Allegany; one son Edward (Suzanne) Conhiser of Allegany; five grandchildren Catherine (Chris) Andera, Christine (James) Steurrys, Carolyn Andrews, Tracy (Alex) Uy and Jason (Michelle) Conhiser; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a daughter Mary Conhiser in 1995. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral services will be held Friday (January 21, 2011) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Pastor William Watson of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Bradford PA will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department or to the Foursquare Gospel Church 50 Sullivan Rd. Bradford, PA 16701.
