Obituary of Linda Augustyn

Linda Marie Augustyn Olean, NY Linda Marie Augustyn of 116 N. 5th St. died Friday (November 26, 2010) in the Olean General Hospital after an extended illness. Born July 22, 1946 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Peter J. and Antoinette Bizarro Disorbo. On June 15, 1968 at St. John's Church in Olean she married Joseph P. Augustyn who survives. Mrs. Augustyn attended St. John's Parochial School and graduated from Olean High School. Her career had been as a teacher's aide for the Children's Learning Center for 22 years prior to her retirement in 2002. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and was an avid Yankee's baseball and Sabres Hockey fan. She was also a fishing enthusiast. At the center of her life at all times was her family for whom she enjoyed hosting the family gatherings, playing with the children and cooking the meals. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 children Anthony J. Augustyn of Olean and Nicole M. Hochadel of Rochester; 1 sister Mary (Clinton) Riehle of Allegany and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother Angelo Disorbo and a sister Patricia Kellogg. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (November 29, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
