Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great- great-grandmother
Olean- Leona Evelyn Glover of 107 Irving Street, passed away Sunday (November 14, 2010) at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 1, 1924 in Allegany, she was the daughter of Michael and Clara Cook Lippert. On October 4, 1941 in St. Bonaventure Church, she married Alvin S. "Squeeky" Glover, Sr., who predeceased her on October 26, 1999.
Mrs. Glover was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family. But most of all she loved taking care of children, especially raising her grandchildren Gene and Clara Glover and her great-grandchildren Amber, Jonathan and Sarah Glover.
Surviving are her son Eugene G. (Agnes) Glover Sr., of Olean; 3 daughters Mary Wilcox of Olean, Michaelene Heil of Cheyenne, WY, Ann (Richard) McIntyre of Olean; 1 sister Clara Mary Glover of Olean; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son Alvin S. Glover, Jr., 3 brothers Howard Lippert, Michael Lippert, Raymond Lippert and 7 sisters Eleanor McAndrew, Geraldine Spaulding, Margaret Ferguson, Dorothy Spaulding, Lucille Kayes, Aileen Seyller and Rita Grandusky.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday (November 19, 2010) beginning with a 9:30am prayer service at the funeral home, followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church 202 S. Union Street, Olean NY, 14760.
