Obituary of Arthur Bergstrom

Arthur E. Bergstrom Olean, NY Arthur E. Bergstrom of 526 Queen Street died Monday (November 8, 2010) in the Absolut of Allegany. Born August 20, 1931 in Olean, NY he was the son of Ernest and Ethel Halsen Bergstrom. On December 23, 1950 in Olean he married Jacqueline C. McLaughlin who survives. Mr. Bergstrom was a graduate of Olean High School and served with the US Navy for four years, part of which was in French Morocco. He had been self employed for over 40 years, having operated Arthur Bergstrom Plumbing and Heating Co. in Olean. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Olean, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #491, the Olean American Legion and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Those who knew Art knew he loved working at his business and he also loved his dog "Pepper". Surviving are his wife of almost 60 years and 4 children Dawn (Gene) Senfield of Olean, Steven (Margaret) Bergstrom of Olean, Cynthia (Scott) Carlson of Mayer, AZ and Beth Anne (Enrico) Laos of Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 4 grandchildren John David Senfield, Katie Lou Carlson, Enrico Laos and Andreas Laos. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday (November 10, 2010) from 11:00am until time of services at 1:00pm. Rev. Marie Meeks, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors being accorded by members of the Allegany American Legion Ritual Team.
