Obituary of Jean Trowbridge

Jean Conrad Stevenson Trowbridge Allegany, NY- Jean Conrad Stevenson Trowbridge of 1377 Chipmonk Rd. died Monday (September 6, 2010) in the Olean General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born July 14, 1921 in Lakewood, OH she was the daughter of Frank Hiram and Letha Stidd Conrad. On November 10, 1940 she married Scott R. Stevenson, Sr. who predeceased her in 1985. In 1991 she married William F. Trowbridge who survives. Mrs. Trowbridge was a 1939 graduate of Limestone High School and had been employed as a homecare provider for individuals in the Allegany area for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany and twice served as the Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Limestone. She was also active with the Allegany Historical Society and the Limestone Alumni Association. She loved the church, music and singing. Surviving are 3 children Russel (Patsy) Stevenson, Jr. of Limestone, John (Phyllis) Stevenson and Mary Ann Taylor, both of Allegany; a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren; 1 sister Marian Conrad Hall Zink of South Onondaga, NY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband she was predeceased by 3 brothers Willard Conrad, Crayton Conrad and Frank Conrad; 2 sisters Isabelle A. "Petie" Miller and Martha Ellen McCleery and a stepmother Stella Mae Reed Conrad. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Wednesday (September 8, 2010) from 9 to 10am. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am in the funeral home. Rev. John Woodring, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Limestone Alumni Association, the Allegany Historical Society or to the Limestone Fire Department.
