Robert T. Wolf
Allegany, NY--Robert T. Wolf of 4012 Route 417 died Saturday (May 1, 2010) in the comfort of his home under the care of his loving family.
Born at the family homestead in Allegany, NY on August 27, 1925, he was the son of Otto and Mary Grader Wolf, whose other 8 children were also born at home. On September 7, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany he was married to Evelyn A. Zink by the Rev. Edward Brusick.
He was educated in a one room country schoolhouse until 8th grade and later was a 1943 graduate of Allegany High School. He had been employed for several years in the oil fields, ten years of which was with the former Sue Oil Co. In 1956 he began working for Clark Bros Co. where he worked for 31 years until his retirement in 1987.
He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and belonged to the United Steelworkers Union Local #4601. He was a former member of the Sixty Plus Club in Allegany. After his retirement he enjoyed working on his farm in Allegany where he raised all kinds of animals and fowl.
Surviving besides his wife of 63 years are 1 son James R. Wolf of Allegany; 1 daughter Vickie L. (Raymond) McKinney of Allegany; 5 grandchildren Andrew (Christy) Wolf, Jennifer (Norman) Glover, Marjorie (Daniel) Walsh, Sara (Eric) Talbot and Nicholas McKinney; 8 great grandchildren Patrick Walsh, Connor Walsh, Jillian Walsh, Moira Walsh, Timothy Wolf, Amelia Wolf, Sofia Glover and Lucas Glover; 4 brothers and sisters Eileen (Leo) Turner, John Wolf, Dorothy Wolf and Ronald (Julie) Wolf), all of Allegany and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 4 brothers and sisters George Wolf, Murble Heinrich, Kenneth Wolf and Donald Wolf.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday (May 4, 2010) at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany from 10:00am until time of services at 11:00am. Rev. Gerard leFeber, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church 36 N. 4th St. Allegany, NY 14706.
