Obituary of Katherine Chouinard

Katherine Fern Chouinard Olean, NY-- Katherine Fern Chouinard of 350 Front St. Aspen Tower died Tuesday (March 9, 2010) in the Olean General Hospital. Born August 25, 1923 in Westfield, PA she was the daughter of Lawrence and Ada Dunham Outman. In 1939 she married William Chamberlain who predeceased her. She later married Lionel Chouinard in Massachusetts. He predeceased her in 1991. Mrs. Chouinard was raised in Allegany and worked as a cook in the Olean area, Franklin, Pa., Florida and Massachusetts. Surviving are 2 sons Charles R. (Maryann) Chamberlain of Salamanca and Roy Chouinard of Allegany; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister Virginia Nolan of Olean and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by 1 son William Chamberlain on May 24, 2004; an infant son John Chamberlain; 5 brothers James Outman, Richard Outman, Ronald Outman, Jack Outman and Gerald Outman and 3 sisters Lillian Finch, infant Phyllis Outman and Audrey King. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean today from 6-9pm. Funeral and committal services will be held Thursday (March 11, 2010) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Kristen Allen, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be next to Mr. Chouinard in the Mt. View Cemetery Veterans Field of Honor, Olean. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
