JOSEPHINE M. LUCYSZYN "Loving Mother and Grandmother" LARGO, FL - Josephine M. Lucyszyn, formerly of Olean, died Friday June 28, 2002 at the Largo Medical Center. Born in Olean on January 22, 1925 she was a daughter of Antonio and Angelina D'Ambrosia Bassano. On Flag Day, June 14, 1944 she married Stanley Lucyszyn at St. John's Church in Olean. Mrs. Lucyszyn was a graduate of Olean High School Class of 1942. She was employed as a receptionist for Holiday Inn and the De Soto Motel for many years. She was later employed as a bookkeeper for the Downtown Deli. She was a life long member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler and bowled on various leagues in the Olean area and in the Largo, FL area where she has been a resident for the past several years. Mrs. Lucyszyn enjoyed traveling throughout the United State and Canada. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed flowers. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Andrew W. (Elizabeth) Lucyszyn of Medina, NY, Donald A. (Laura Osgood) Lucyszyn of Olean and Stanley J. Lucyszyn with whom she resided in Largo; two grandchildren, Andrew V. (Kelly) Lucyszyn of Cincinnati OH, and Katherine Smith of Lyndonville, NY; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Ian Tyler Smith of Lyndonville; two brothers, Louis (Lena) Bassano of Moore SC and Anthony (Jean) Bassano of Allegany; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grand daughter, Mary Angelina Lucyszyn and a sister and brother-in-law, Raphael and Robert Reese. There will be no public visitations. Friends will be received Wednesday July 10, 2002 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road Olean from 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM at which time a prayer service will be conducted. Funeral services will follow with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John's Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Kevin Downey, OFM will be celebrant in the absence of Msgr. William Wangler, pastor. Burial and committal will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to St. John's Church, 931 North Union Street, Olean, NY 14760.
